Worcestershire, UK - 18 September 2026 - Raquex has today launched Evion, a five-model padel racquet range built around a new head shape the company calls Vector Shape, the product of almost a year of engineering and development.

Three shapes, and the compromise in all of them

Padel racquets have mainly been built to three shapes since the sport standardised: diamond, round, and the teardrop that sits between them. The shape decides where the sweet spot sits, and with it the compromise every player has to accept.

A diamond carries its mass high in the head. That gives power, and a sweet spot that is small and unforgiving. A round frame moves the sweet spot down towards the centre of the face, which is far kinder to a mishit but gives away the power a high balance provides. The teardrop splits the difference and dilutes both.

What Vector Shape does instead

Vector Shape sets out to stop splitting the difference. The frame pairs a concave neck, curving inwards, with a faceted crown whose points reach beyond the circle a round racquet is drawn from. Mass is redistributed around the head rather than moved up or down it, so the racquet keeps the drive of a high-balance diamond while offering a hitting area closer to that of a round.

"Every padel player is handed the same trade-off the moment they pick up a racquet: power or forgiveness, and you cannot have both. The teardrop is the sport's answer to that, but it is still a compromise. We spent the best part of a year researching and engineering new ways of approaching it, and Vector Shape is what we landed on. Now we have a range that leans towards how you play, not how long you have played, or your skill level."

Olly Rose, Founder, Raquex

Vector Shape is exclusive to the Evion range. It describes the complete racquet silhouette, sitting alongside the traditional diamond, round and teardrop hybrid, rather than any single part of the frame.

The range

The range has five racquets, from £199 to £239. Evion Strike is the attacking racquet, for players who take the point by force. Evion Precision is built for control, and comes in Navy, Champagne and a limited edition Rose of 200 individually numbered racquets. Evion Match sits between the two, for players who attack and defend in equal measure. All five are handmade, and all five are designed and engineered in the United Kingdom.

Availability

The full Evion range is available from 09:00 BST on Friday 18 September 2026 at raquex.com, and through selected Raquex stockists and partner clubs. The range reaches Amazon UK from Friday 25 September.

Clubs and retailers first, the website second

The shape is not the only thing Raquex has done differently. Partner clubs and retailers were given the Evion range to sell, on court and in their pro shops, before it appeared on raquex.com. That is a deliberate reversal of the usual launch order, and one the company intends to repeat.
